This is the summary of day 5. The 3 full chapters, with the practical actions, are in the course inside the app. In the app: 9 min read across 3 chapters

Before any technique, sleep responds to the environment, and the three levers are light, sound and temperature. None requires buying anything: brightness by day and dimness at night teach the body clock; the house does not need to be silent, only free of noise peaks; and the right clothing avoids the most common mistake in warm climates, which is overdressing.

Day 5 also holds the most serious chapter of the course, about safe sleep, following the guidelines of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and closes with an honest conversation about white noise, with what helps, what gets in the way and how to use it well.

What you'll learn in the 3 chapters

  1. 1

    Light, sound and temperature

You will understand how each lever acts on sleep, the back-of-the-neck test to tell whether the baby is too warm, and why a hat indoors gets in the way.

  2. 2

    Where the baby sleeps safely

This chapter gathers the safe-sleep rules from the pediatric societies, from sleep position to the empty crib and room-sharing with a separate bed, and sends any safety question straight to the pediatrician.

  3. 3

White noise: when it helps and when it gets in the way

Here you understand why a uniform hiss soothes, in which situations it is worth it, the rules for volume and distance from the crib, and why white noise is optional.
